Let It Be

Ello ello ello!

On Sunday, Magnum celebrated their 25th birthday by taking over the whole of Regent Street and giving away free ice cream. Of course I popped down to have a gander!

The sun was shining so it seemed like the perfect time to show off some new purchases. Here's what I wore.

I went for a monochrome look with just a dash of red. My leather look trousers were an eBay purchase originally from Topshop, and my Beatles top is also from Topshop. I don't know which item I was most excited to be wearing for the first time - my new bag or shoes. Let's start with the bag...

This super glitzy satchel is from Paperchase. I literally fell in love the moment I spotted it instore. I had to have it, I couldn't even wait for payday! It just screams Dorothy Gale. They have it in glittery pink or sparkly silver. I'd suggest grabbing one whilst you can!

Now on to my new shoes...

These beauties are from Matalan, bought in their mega sale for just £6!! I also bought 2 more pairs of shoes and a skirt with a grand total of £28 - absolute bargain! Matalan always have fab sales, so definitely check it out when you get the chance, and before all the best pieces are gone!

I couldn't wear a blazer without some badges! The 'Hello Sailor' one was a gift from The Maritime Museum in Greenwich, and the 'Prefect' brooch is another vintage find from Snooper's Paradise in Brighton.

Right, back to our day. I ventured out with my housemate Lee. We started with some lunch at Joe and the Juice. Try their Power Shake - strawberry and banana. Delish! Lee also recommends their avocado sandwich.

Next, we took a wander down Regent Street to see the skies lined with giant golden balloons, free ice cream, a Bollywood dance class, live music and a dress designed by Henry Holland, inspired by a Magnum ice cream.

We finished our sunny day with a lovely walk to Waterloo across the Golden Jubilee Bridge. This is my ultimate favourite walk to do in London. The view from the bridge is just... no words, I love it!

Thanks for reading, and please don't be shy, come say hi, I don't bite, promise :)

To Be Worn Again

Morning folks!

Just a quick outfit post from me today. This one is from a wee trip to the O2 with my brother.

This fab striped full skirt was one of my many purchases from a recent trip to Brighton. It's from a vintage shop called To Be Worn Again. They have such a great selection of patterned skirts. This one had my name written all over it with the blue and green stripes.

My anchor crop top I bought from Primark a few years ago. It's light and loose and oh-so easy to layer over highwaisted skirts/shorts. I'm such a sucker for anchors...

The bag I was wearing (and completely forgot to take a photo of that day) is from a clothing swap. It's festival season, so fringing is totally in right now!

I may have been at the O2, but there was another building which caught my eye. I absolutely love the exterior of Ravensbourne College. The shapes and colours are very 70's.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday. I'm off to Regent Street for some free ice cream! Thanks for reading :)

Begin Again

Afternoon!

Last week I won a competition through New Look's Twitter and had the chance to go to an exclusive screening at the eOne headquarters on Thursday to watch Keira Knightely's new film Begin Again. Before I go into fan girl mode over Keira's wardrobe in the film, I'll show you what I wore for the occasion.

My colourful butterfly top is from Romwe. I got a lot of compliments at work wearing this top! I've paired it with these just as colourful aquamarine jeans from Monsoon. Check out how I styled this top differently last year!

I'd never really ventured around Warren Street before, I literally fell in love with all the Victorian looking buildings. I could've walked around forever.

Before the screening, we decided to stuff our faces with this giant piece of chocolate coconut cake at a cute little cafe - delish!!

Right, now the chocolate cake is out of the way, I can get down to my latest girl crush! I really enjoyed Begin Again, Keira actually has a pretty good voice. But it was her character, Greta's wardrobe that had my pulse racing!

50's sundresses, boyish vintage trousers, loafers, loose cropped tops - what's not to love? Last night I carried out some research to bring you this handy little style steal guide to getting your own Greta look. You're welcome!!

Ashley San Francisco Smock, Mod Dolly - £24     Check patterned trousers, Rokit Vintage - £20     Black ankle strap sandals, New Look - £14.50     Pink fine knit crochet vest, New Look - £12.99     Fine knit jumper, H&M - £7.99

Vintage shoulder bag, Beyond Retro - £26     1970's loafers, Absolute Vintage - £22     Leather plait belt, Accessorize - £7.50     Noisy May checked shirt dress, ASOS - £28

So there you have it! Now I'm off to listen to the soundtrack on my roof. Hope you all enjoy this beautifully sunny day. I should be back tomorrow with another outfit post.

Thanks for reading :)

Blackpool Beach

Hello!!

I'm back with our final day up North. After going to dinner with the 'rents, me and the (not so) little brother went for a walk along the beach. I finally had the chance to show off my new Bonne Chance Collections dress!

For this outfit, I'm going to start with the shoes. I got these lovelies in Primark a few years back. I love their bold yellow colour but it wasn't a colour that featured much in my wardrobe, so I've been on the hunt for pieces with even a hint of this colour so I could get these bad boys out. When I found this dress on Bonne Chance's site, I knew exactly how I would wear it! I added a gold buckled belt and black cardigan, both from a clothes swap, and white sunglasses.

You should all follow Bonne Chance on Twitter for special discount codes.

Here are some more photos from the beach!

Right, I'm off to the carnival celebrations at the Olympic Park with my new housemate. Thanks for reading and don't forget to vote for me over on Rokit's Street Style competition (just hit the Facebook like icon above the photo). If I win, I'll be sharing some of the prize with one of you on here!

Toodles!

Fleetwood Harbour

Just a quick post tonight! This is from day 2 up North with the family. We visited Fleetwood Harbour where they have loads of factory outlet shops. This meant one thing - BARGAINS!! I managed to grab a bag of 10 Creme Eggs for £2!! I wasn't quite prepared for the sunshine that day so I look slightly like an out of place goth...

It's navy and black again!! My navy cable knit jumper is from H&M. I love it so much I've got it in grey and brown too! My high waisted jeans are from New Look, as are my boots (£8 in the sale, hurrah!) and my monochrome bag.

I always feel so relaxed and peaceful around boats. Yeah, I'm weird...

I've taught my brother well with posing for photos. Be sure to like me Facebook Page for sneaky peeks of upcoming posts and competitions. I'm also on Instagram too!

Thanks for reading. I'll be back soon with polka dots on Blackpool beach!

We All Live In A...

Evening folks!

At the end of May my Daddy dearest turned 60. To celebrate, he wanted to go on a wee trip up North, so a hotel was booked for the Ellis' in Blackpool. During our first day we took a little drive to Liverpool. Of course there was one place in particular I wanted to visit...

Being in the birth city of the Fab Four, it was only right that we visited The Beatles Story Exhibition. I was in my element! It was my Dad who introduced me to The Beatles quite a few years ago when he made me a CD of  their biggest songs (to be honest, you could probably fill about 7 CDs of their greatest hits). I was astounded that I actually knew every song, which was weird as it wasn't as though I had been brought up with my parents playing their music constantly (my Mum detests them... don't ask!). Since that very first CD, I have been a massive (too small a word?) fan of these 4 lads from Liverpool. After catching the documentary about the bands first visit to America, it was decidced that Ringo was to be my favourite.

I love Liverpool. The shops around the docks are all full of 2 of my favourite things; The Beatles and pirates!

My outfit for the day was inspired by a certain Beatles song. Let's see if you can guess...

My chunky cable knit jumper is from Oasap. Obviously I love the bright yellow colour, but I also love the vibrant colors of the flower details on the shoulders. It means this sweater can be paired with a variety of coloured shirts/bottoms. For this outfit, I decided on a royal blue chiffon shirt originally from Primark which I bought from a little second hand clothes shop over in Donegal in Ireland. My favourite pair of jeans are from Topshops Jamie range. These yellow brogues are also from Primark and they brighten up the dullest of outfits!

Now, I'm not usually one for much accessorizing, but on this occasion, I couldn't resist. White sunglasses seem to be quite popular this summer. I bought these ones with turquoise arms from Primark for a measly 2 quid! My prized Ringo badge was a great find from jumble shop Snoopers Paradise in Brighton, and the anchor badge was a present from a visit to the Maritime Museum in Greenwich.

Here are some more photos from our day in Liverpool.

I absolutely loved The Beatles Story and can't wait to go back as there was another part that we didn't quite get enough time to visit. I have actually started a 6 week online course on The Music Of The Beatles through Coursera and so far, I am thoroughly enjoying it. I've also just enrolled on a Fashion Journalism course through Morley College in London. It starts in October and I am beyond excited!!

Oh, did you manage to guess the song inspiration for my outfit (there was also a clue in today's post name...)

That's right, it was Yellow Submarine, with my Ringo on vocals.

I hope this post didn't hurt your eyes too much. If it did, be sure to come back tomorrow for a darker outfit post featuring boats! Thanks for reading. Don't forget to like me Facebook Page to get sneak peeks before my posts go live.

I've also entered Rokit's street style competition and would love your votes. If I win, I'll be using my prize as an exclusive giveaway on the blog.

See you tomorrow where...
